Umpire Gary Darling Spits Gum On Red Sox Manager Bobby Valentine

A.B. If an umpire spits gum at a manager shouldn’t he get an automatic ejection? A manager can’t swear at an umpire, argue balls & strikes or make any sort of contact. But an umpire can spit Double Bubble at a manager? That’s a health issue, if nothing else. That needs to be a mandatory 5 games or at least mandatory etiquette classes for Mr. Darling.

Didn’t his mother ever teach him not to argue and chew gum at the same time? It always comes down to poor parenting. Tongue gum in cheek of course.
