Red Sox Pitcher Aaron Cook Put Boxing Gloves In Ryan Sweeney’s Locker

Ryan Sweeney is clearly remorseful for breaking his hand after punching a clubhouse door on Monday night. One of his teammates, thought, helped to ease the frustration making light of the situation before Wednesday night’s game with the Detroit Tigers.

Starting pitcher Aaron Cook hung a pair of boxing gloves in Sweeney’s locker, should the outfielder feel the need to hit anything else in the near future. He won’t be able to use them anytime soon, sadly, as Sweeney has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with the injury.

A.B. As talked about in the NESN broadcast – some people think this is no laughing matter. But what’s one more joke in a locker room that IS a joke? Whatever the Red Sox have been doing hasn’t worked, so why not try something new? Report after report talks about clubhouse division, hatred for Bobby V and general¬†dysfunction.

I for one see no problem in trying to keep things light.¬†“There is little success where there is little laughter.” ~Andrew Carnegie.
